Dating apps are such a big part of dating culture in this society. But which
one is the most successful?
By Roxie Bynum
Recently, I have tried out three dating apps (without premium access) to see if what people on social media say is actually true. I downloaded Hinge, Tinder, and Bumble.
The most popular dating app that has been on my "For you" page with the
most successes has been Bumble. A recent article Charlotte Maracina and Rebecca Fleenor on cnet.com states that out of the three dating apps that I downloaded, Bumble is the best dating app for 2024. Is this true?
The first dating app that I downloaded was Hinge. I didn’t dislike it too much. The only negative that I have about Hinge is that there are more older people on there. If you are young like me, and more interested in people your age, I would suggest you don’t download Hinge.
The next dating app that I downloaded was Tinder. Tinder was probably a big No for me. Most of the guys on Tinder are just looking for something short and for hookups, which isn’t really my style, but if that’s what you’re into,Tinder is your place! You will find a lot of people around your age though, so that is a plus.
The last dating app that I downloaded was Bumble! My expectations for Bumble were really high, because of social media and different things that I have heard about it. On Bumble, I ran into many guys who are looking for serious relationships, and Bumble does its best to match you with people who fit your interests.
I will say that I have to agree with social media and the Cnet article that Bumble most definitely seems like the place to find a long-term relationship. I ran into a lot of guys in my area and people of my age.
If you want a serious relationship I would download Bumble. Cnet ranked Bumble as number one, up next was Hinge, and last was Tinder. I would definitely agree with Cnet.
Personally, I am leaning more towards Bumble because I feel like there are more guys that I share an interest with, and they are looking for something more serious. There are some very respectful guys on Hinge, but I didn’t get a good experience with guys who shared the same interests as me. Tinder was a definite no. I will probably never download Tinder again, and that app seems to be for one thing, and one thing only, which is hookups.
Here are my takeways for dating apps, tailored to what you're looking for:
For a serious relationship with someone who shares your interests: Try Bumble - it’s designed to help you find people with similar values and hobbies.
For a relationship with someone who might have different interests: Go with Hinge - it’s great for connecting with people outside your usual circle.
For something more casual and fun - Tinder is your go-to for meeting people who are also looking for a light-hearted connection.
Hopefully, you find what (and who) you’re looking for!
